Sound familiar?
The four problems we get called about most.
None of these are unusual in Tooele County or the newer Salt Lake Valley subdivisions. All four have a straightforward fix once someone actually looks at the yard.
A bare dirt yard and an HOA clock
You closed on a new build, the front yard is builder dirt, and there is a compliance date in your CC&Rs. Nobody explained what "landscaped" actually has to mean.
We scope the fastest compliant front-yard package and give you a real start date.
Sprinklers that never worked right
Dry patches, a valve that will not shut off, or a secondary-water setup nobody set up correctly. Then the water bill arrives.
We diagnose the actual fault before quoting, and we tell you if repair beats replacement.
A slope you cannot use
Half the back yard runs downhill, water pools by the foundation after every storm, and the soil keeps washing out.
Grading first, then a wall or terrace sized to the grade, with drainage built in.
Four contractors, four excuses
One company clears, another grades, a third does irrigation, a fourth lays sod. When something goes wrong, everyone points at someone else.
One crew from clearing through finished lawn, so there is one number to call.

Getting to you
Equipment on Site, Not Rented by the Hour
Erda work is equipment work. We keep skid steers and mini excavators at our Grantsville shop, twelve minutes away, so we're not paying rental clocks or waiting on a delivery window to start clearing an acre.
Access is usually easy out here, wide frontage and room to stage material, which lets us bring in topsoil, road base, and boulders in fewer trips. On a big lot that turns a two-week job into a one-week job.
Local conditions
Acreage, Custom Homes, and Wide-Open Grade
Erda properties run from an acre up, often with a custom home set well back from the road. That changes every part of the plan. Irrigation needs more zones and longer mainlines. Grading covers more ground and has to send water away from the house and the outbuildings, not just the lawn. And a lot of properties want a defined, finished area near the house with the rest left natural.
Rural lots here are also where boulder and rock walls make the most sense. Native basalt and fieldstone match the setting better than manufactured block, and they handle the wide grade changes that show up on the benches. When a slope actually needs to hold weight, we build an engineered retaining wall instead and say so upfront.

Got questions?
Landscaping in Erda: your questions
Do you clear overgrown acreage in Erda?
Yes. Brush removal, overgrown vegetation, and debris haul-off on large rural lots is regular work for us. We run skid steers and mini excavators and hand the site over clean and ready for grading.
Can you irrigate a full acre?
Yes, with the right design. Big lots need more zones, larger mainlines, and pressure planning so the far heads still throw properly. We size the system on site rather than guessing from a plat map.
Should I build a boulder wall or a retaining wall on my Erda slope?
It depends on whether the wall has to hold real grade. Decorative and low-retaining situations suit natural boulder walls, which look right on a rural property. Taller grade-holding walls need an engineered segmental system with drain rock, drain tile, and geogrid.
Do I have to landscape the whole property?
No, and most Erda owners don't. The common approach is a finished, irrigated zone around the house and outbuildings, with the rest left natural or in low-water treatment. We scope it however you want to use the land.
How do you handle drainage on a big Erda lot?
With grading first. We set positive slope away from the house and outbuildings and cut swales where runoff needs somewhere to go. On acreage that's more important than anywhere else, because a lot more water is moving across the property.
Do you charge extra to come out to Erda?
No. Erda is twelve minutes from our Grantsville shop, so it's home turf. Estimates are free and there's no travel surcharge.
