Sound familiar?
The four problems we get called about most.
None of these are unusual in Tooele County or the newer Salt Lake Valley subdivisions. All four have a straightforward fix once someone actually looks at the yard.
A bare dirt yard and an HOA clock
You closed on a new build, the front yard is builder dirt, and there is a compliance date in your CC&Rs. Nobody explained what "landscaped" actually has to mean.
We scope the fastest compliant front-yard package and give you a real start date.
Sprinklers that never worked right
Dry patches, a valve that will not shut off, or a secondary-water setup nobody set up correctly. Then the water bill arrives.
We diagnose the actual fault before quoting, and we tell you if repair beats replacement.
A slope you cannot use
Half the back yard runs downhill, water pools by the foundation after every storm, and the soil keeps washing out.
Grading first, then a wall or terrace sized to the grade, with drainage built in.
Four contractors, four excuses
One company clears, another grades, a third does irrigation, a fourth lays sod. When something goes wrong, everyone points at someone else.
One crew from clearing through finished lawn, so there is one number to call.

Getting to you
Straight Up SR-36 to the I-80 Junction
Lake Point is a twenty-minute run north from our Grantsville yard up SR-36, right where it meets I-80. Material deliveries are easy here because the freeway access is immediate, so sod, gravel, and topsoil land on site without a long haul off the highway.
We usually schedule Lake Point work on the same rotation as Stansbury Park, which keeps crew time efficient and lets us hold same-week estimate slots for the area.
Local conditions
Wind, Basin Soil, and Water That Doesn't Drain
Lake Point sits at the mouth of the valley where the wind funnels through, and that shapes what we plant and where. Young trees need proper staking and wind-tolerant species, and evergreen screening along an exposed property line does more good here than almost anywhere else in the county.
Soil at the north end of the valley carries Great Salt Lake basin characteristics: heavier, saltier in spots, and slow to drain. We test what we're working with, amend accordingly, and pay extra attention to grade so water actually leaves the yard instead of sitting in low spots. Beds that hold water here will kill plants that would be fine three miles south.

Got questions?
Landscaping in Lake Point: your questions
What plants hold up to the wind in Lake Point?
Wind-tolerant, adapted species with strong root systems. We favor tougher shade trees and evergreens for screening, stake new trees properly for the first season, and avoid brittle ornamentals on exposed frontage.
Is the soil different in Lake Point than the rest of the valley?
It can be. Sitting near the Great Salt Lake basin, soil at this end tends to be heavier and slower-draining, with salinity in some pockets. We amend for it and grade carefully so water leaves the yard.
My yard holds water after a storm. Can that be fixed?
Usually yes, with grading. We reshape the yard for positive slope away from the house, cut swales where runoff needs a path, and rebuild beds that are sitting in low spots. It's the first thing to fix before planting anything new.
Do you do full installs for new Lake Point homes?
Yes. That's most of our work here. Grading, irrigation, topsoil, sod, trees, edging, and gravel beds in one coordinated job so you're not chasing four different contractors.
How far out do you schedule Lake Point jobs?
Estimates are usually same-week. Install scheduling depends on the season and job size, and we'll give you a real date rather than a vague window when we quote.
Still have a question?
Call or text us Monday to Friday, 8 to 6. We'll give you a straight answer, no pressure.
