## Keeping a finished landscape finished

A new landscape looks its best on handover day and then starts moving in one direction or another. With regular attention it fills in, matures and gets better every season. Without it, weeds establish in the fresh beds, shrubs go leggy, mulch thins out, edges blur, and within two seasons a lot of what you paid for is no longer visible.

Our maintenance service is aimed at protecting the install. Bed maintenance and weed control, trimming and shaping, seasonal cleanups, mulch and gravel top-ups where beds have thinned, and irrigation checks as we go. It’s practical upkeep rather than a fixed package, and we scope it with you on the first visit based on what’s actually planted and how much you want to hand over.

The irrigation piece is worth calling out. Because we install and repair systems anyway, a maintenance visit doubles as a check on coverage. Stuck valves, clogged heads and drip leaks are quiet problems. The first sign is usually the water bill. Catching them during a routine visit costs almost nothing; catching them in August costs a season of a dead bed.

Seasonal transitions are the other high-value moments. Spring startup gets the system running and the beds reset after winter. Fall cleanup clears leaf litter out of beds before it mats down, cuts back what should be cut back, and gets the winterization blowout booked before the first hard freeze and before everyone else is calling for one.

What does your landscape maintenance include?

Bed maintenance and weed control, trimming and shaping of shrubs and perennials, seasonal cleanups, mulch or gravel top-ups where beds have thinned, and irrigation checks. We scope it with you on the first visit rather than selling a fixed package that may not fit your yard.

Do you offer ongoing arrangements?

Yes, and we keep them flexible. Some customers want regular visits through the growing season, others just want a spring startup and a fall cleanup. We size the arrangement to your property and what you actually want handed over.

How much does maintenance cost?

Visits commonly run from around $100 depending on property size and scope. Larger properties and catch-up visits on neglected yards cost more. Seasonal cleanups and one-off tidy-ups are quoted separately from recurring work.

How often should beds be maintained?

Regular light visits through the growing season are far more efficient than one big rescue. Weeds pulled small come out easily; weeds left to seed multiply the work for the next two years. Frequency depends on your planting and how much bare soil there is.

What matters most in fall in Utah?

Winterizing the irrigation before the first hard freeze is the one that costs real money if you skip it. Beyond that: clearing leaves and debris out of beds so they don't mat down, cutting back what should be cut back, and leaving the yard tidy going into winter.

Do you mow lawns?

Our maintenance focus is on beds, planting, trimming and seasonal work rather than weekly mowing routes. If mowing is your main need we're happy to point you toward someone who does it well, and we'll still handle the bed and irrigation side.

Will you check my sprinklers during maintenance visits?

Yes, and it's one of the more valuable parts. Broken heads, stuck valves and coverage gaps get noticed and flagged, and because we do irrigation work we can fix them rather than just reporting them.

Can you take over maintenance on a yard someone else installed?

Absolutely. The first visit takes a bit longer because we're learning the property, what's planted, where the drip runs, how the zones are set, but that's normal and we account for it in the quote.

Do you refresh mulch?

Yes. Bark mulch breaks down and thins out, typically needing a top-up about once a year to hold depth and colour. Gravel beds rarely need topping but do benefit from having accumulated debris cleared out so weeds have less to germinate in.

What happens to a new landscape without maintenance?

It slips faster than most people expect. Weeds establish in fresh beds, shrubs get leggy without shaping, mulch thins and lets light through, and edges blur. Two seasons of neglect on a new install undoes a lot of what you paid for.
